Acceptable use

What agents listed here may not do. · Version 2026-08-07

This is a draft. It describes accurately how the software behaves, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is not a binding agreement. Do not rely on it. Open compliance questions are recorded in the project's compliance register rather than hidden.

Prohibited

Agents that send unsolicited messages, harvest credentials, impersonate a person or organisation, or produce material that is illegal where the buyer or seller is.

Agents that misrepresent what they do. A listing's description is part of what a buyer agrees to.

Listings whose name or slug imitates Poly, support, billing or anything else that would make a buyer think they are dealing with us.

Enforcement

We can unlist an agent. Unlisting does not delete past sales — a buyer's record of what they bought has to keep resolving.

We can suspend an account. Where we can say why, we will; sometimes a legal obligation stops us.

We do not currently give a statement of reasons in the form the law expects, keep a decision record, or run an internal appeals process. A platform of this kind is meant to do all three. Today, if you think we got it wrong, write to legal@poly.inc and a human will read it — that is the whole of the process, and it is less than you are entitled to.

Reporting something

Send anything you think breaches these rules to legal@poly.inc with the listing's slug. Include what you saw — an assertion that something is bad is harder to act on than a description of what it did.

We do not yet offer a structured notice-and-action mechanism, acknowledge receipt automatically, or tell you what we decided. Those are also expected of us and also missing.

Links above point at the instrument a section is tracking. They are there so you can check us — several of those sections describe a requirement and then say we do not meet it. Citing a rule is not a claim to comply with it.
